Glammonitor.com is searching for an experienced, highly motivated New-York based Editor-in-Chief with the ability to edit long-form journalism. The Editor-in-Chief’s role is to lead, hire, inspire and support Glammonitor.com’s staff and writers. The Editor-in-Chief will attract and involve the public in major issues, news stories and cultural events around the globe, primarily in the fashion, entertainment and beauty industries.

The ultimate candidate will have not only 3+ years’ experience in editing, but will also have a proven track of record for delivering breakout ideas and angles that drive conversation well beyond fashion.

Our new Editor-in-Chief should, in line with journalism ethics, be unbiased and will be obsessed with sourcing the most relevant and unexpected fashion-based content out there: Hunting down exclusives as well as hidden stories, tackling serious issues and put a spotlight on corruption, destructive methods and deeds that go down behind glorious runway scenes.

As the Editor-in-Chief you will work with Glammonitor.com’s reporters to create digital stories and will shape the site’s editorial policies and initiatives. The ultimate candidate must:

1. Have degree in Journalism/Investigative Journalism or related field.
2. Develop and maintain a weekly editorial schedule and calendar.
3. Edit (including proofreading, fact check, copy editing, editing for search engine optimization) and oversee all content on the website.
4. Be a quick and agile worker, ready to turn around clean, complex copy quickly.
5. Have a vast, preexisting network of sources, industry connections, and contacts to find compelling stories.
6. Have strong organizational and time management skills to oversee a high volume of work within tight timeframes.

8. Generate ideas for new features.
9. Communicate ongoing coordination among editors and contributing writers. Collaborate with the team to develop overall strategy and creative approaches.

11. Be a superlative writer and editor, who knows how to quickly make a story for maximum impact and can copyedit for accurate grammar, word use and AP style standards.
12. Master headlines and story summations that spur social sharing.
13. Outline and execute a vision for growing and expanding Glammonitor. Work with the reporters to pitch and pioneer fashion stories that deviates from the regular news cycle.
14. Have strong understanding in content marketing and growth tactics.
15. Have long, strong experience with Photoshop, Google Docs, and acute understanding of SEO and various CMS’s. (WordPress)
16. Be highly organized, able to meet deadlines. Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills. Foreign language is a plus.
17. Have the will and drive to change laws, change lives and help readers connect the dots in complex fashion world.
18. Possess a strong social media presence. (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook) Must have strong digital/social savvy, with a deep understanding of the evolving traditional and emerging media landscapes and how they impact digital publishing.

Our new fashion reporter should, in line with journalism ethics, be unbiased and will be obsessed with sourcing the most relevant and unexpected fashion-based content out there: reporting on industry events, and hunting down exclusives as well as hidden stories and breaking headlines. Advertising Sales Manager

Glammonitor.com is seeking an energetic and motivated Advertising Sales Manager with a passion for closing advertising deals and the ambition to jumpstart a sales organization in a small, good environment.

The Advertising Sales Manager, will be responsible for increasing revenue and creating greater visibility in the digital marketplace for our site. Our ideal candidate should have experience in digital/web sales and have strong relationships with digital agencies and clients, primarily fashion, beauty and CPG categories, but experience with entertainment, travel, liquor, automotive and ecommerce is also welcome.

Most important, our ideal candidate must have strong connections with nonprofit organizations and bring them to advertise on our site.

The Advertising Manager is expected to be involved in our cause and a general interest in women’s fashion, gender equality, social matters and, keeping a pulse on advertising and marketing needs throughout our circles.

The successful candidate will possess a strong, positive personality, great organizational skills and have a minimum of five years’ experience selling online media advertising. Managerial experience is also preferred, although demonstrated leadership ability will be considered.

A competitive base salary is offered as well as performance incentives and bonuses. This position does not offer benefits.

Qualifications & Responsibilities:

This journalist is a person of integrity, credibility and resourcefulness, and is someone who possesses the skills to deliver hard-hitting projects on a deadline. Successful members of our staff have a competitive spirit, are aggressive storytellers and know the importance of building relationships in the community in order to generate news leads.

This job focuses on covering social, political and ethical issues primarily in the fashion and beauty industries, as well as health, media and more.

In this role, you will:

  • Produce watchdog journalism and uncover stories that contribute to the community’s greater good and leads to change.
  • Implement an engagement strategy for social media making regular contributions via twitter, blog or other tools.
  • Use sources, documents, computer-assisted reporting, and other journalistic tools to develop, report, write and produce exclusive accountability stories and investigative projects about abuses of power, corruption and betrayals of trust by public officials and other institutions changed with functioning in the public interest.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism.
